I used to think that John was the Lord’s favorite disciple, because the Bible calls John “the disciple whom Jesus loved”.
One day, the Lord opened my eyes and showed me that the phrase “the disciple whom Jesus loved” is actually found only in the book of John. *John uses this phrase to describe himself! John was believing it and receiving it! He was practicing and personalizing the love that Jesus had for him.
