Today’s guest, Nicholas Hammond, is a highly popular and beloved actor, writer and director whom we first fell in love with in 1965 when he played “Friedrich von Trapp”, the eldest son of the von Trapp children, in the classic movie, “The Sound of Music”.

And of course, we remember him as the very first live action “Peter Parker” – better known as “Spider-Man” – in the 1977 movie “Spider-Man” and the 2 sequels, “Spider-Man Strikes Back” and “Spider-Man: The Dragon’s Challenge”, as well as on the iconic TV show, “The Amazing Spider-Man”.

But beyond those iconic roles, our guest has brought us many other great performances. On Broadway, at the age of 11, he played Sir Michael Redgrave’s son in “The Complaisant Lover”, and in 1970 he returned to Broadway to star in “Conduct Unbecoming”.

On the big screen, he appeared in “Lord of the Flies”, “Skyjacked”, “Superdad”, “Emerald City”, “The Black Cobra 2”, “Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles”, “Stealth”, “Turkey Shoot”, “Ladies in Black”, “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”, “Art of Eight Limbs” and many more. And on TV, he’s appeared in dozens of shows including “The Brady Bunch”, “The Waltons”, “Gunsmoke”, “Falcon Crest”, “Dallas”, “General Hospital”, “Murder She Wrote”, “Mirror, Mirror”, “BackBerner”, “MDA”, just to name a few.

And you’ve seen him in a whole slew of TV movies and miniseries including “Catch-22”, “Rich Man, Poor Man”, “The Martian Chronicles”, “Cyclone Tracy”, “The Challenge”, “Trouble in Paradise”, “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea”, “On the Beach”, “Gallipoli” and many more. And our guest is also a very gifted writer. He co-wrote the TV miniseries “A Difficult Woman” and the TV movie, “Secret Men’s Business”.
