Dr Trudi Deakin is a registered dietitian, and chief executive of the charity X-PERT Health, who specialises in training healthcare professionals to prevent and manage Type 2 diabetes, obesity and metabolic syndrome. I caught up with her at the Public Health Collaboration Annual Conference 2019 in central London, where she was one of the key speakers addressing an audience of health professionals and patients who want to see changes made to conventional NHS eating guidelines.
