My guest this week is responsible for more than 30,000 babies! Professor Simon Fishel is a multi-award-winning scientist and fertility treatment specialist. He was part of the original pioneering team at the world’s first in vitro fertilisation (IVF) clinic in 1980. Since then, he’s dedicated his career to helping people have children. He founded CARE Fertility - a network of IVF centres in the UK, and is also the CEO of ProFaM - a company that recently made headlines after launching a medical procedure that could delay the menopause by 20 years using ovarian tissue freezing. In this episode, you’ll discover: 🔹The main reasons for infertility among couples that come to Simon for IVF 🔹His theories on why infertility is increasing 🔹What he says is the most difficult barrier to conception among women 🔹Why a healthy sperm count doesn’t mean a man is fertile 🔹Simon’s advice to any couple considering IVF 🔹What it was like to be part of the original team at the world’s first ever IVF clinic 🔹How it feels to be responsible for more than 30,000 babies 🔹What he’s most excited about in the future of IVF 🔹What’s involved in the new operation to delay the menopause and prolong fertility 🔹How it could give back a 60 year-old woman the hormones of her 25 year-old self 🔹Whether the operation can work for women who have irregular cycles or other hormonal issues 🔹The limitations of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for menopausal women Subscribe (for free) to the healthHackers® YouTube channel: youtube.com/HealthHackers Read articles and see all videos at healthhackers.uk
