In this episode, Jack talks with school fundraising expert Kim Freid about the student leadership and character development programs that are helping elementary schools across the country raise money without burning out teachers and volunteers.
Parent / Teacher groups raise more than $1.5 billion every year selling everything from candy, coupons to wrapping paper… activities that are often perceived as annoying “fundraising noise” by parents, teachers, and the community.
While most principals report they would rather not have to raise funds, 87 percent believe fundraising provides valuable returns by paying for classroom equipment and supplies, along with important “extras” such as new playground equipment and field trips.
Listen in to hear how Kim combines her passions for philanthropy and entrepreneurship to help elementary schools nationwide raise much-needed funds. Even during the COVID pandemic, the schools her organization is working with have seen a 30% increase in fundraising while building character and leadership skills for students.
