Cris’s reason why he started to work out in the gym years ago, was mainly to have a healthy outlet to help reduce stress, take care of himself and find an avenue of inner peace. With the onset of pandemic this year, he found it even more important to make it to the gym on a regular basis to be healthy mentally, physically, and emotionally. His top tip for anyone heading to the gym would be to set achievable goals, focus on being consistent, don’t rush it, and find the exercises that best work for you and stick to them. The best time for him to get in the gym, depends on what the individual’s schedule is and availability, but for Cris he finds that going after work is the best for him since he already has a set schedule and can maintain it. When it came to the pandemic, he wanted to make sure that he kept active so that he could be physically and mentally healthy, as well as motivated. So he took the necessary steps to maintain his gym routine such as utilizing face masks and hand sanitizer while in the gym, avoiding crowded gym classes and equipment, taking classes online if available, and modifying his workout routines to suit his home environment. With the modified workout routines, he began to find innovative ways to train and break a sweat while still socially distancing, such as cycling and using workout equipment at home. The gym is and will always be a key part of Cris’s lifestyle, and he urges others to follow in his footsteps and begin to find a way to prioritize themselves through exercise
