On the eve of Big Ten Media Days in Indianapolis there is no doubt that future college football expansion and realignment will be media buzz words directed toward commissioner Tony Petitti Tuesday.

And while we, and the rest of the college football world have been focusing on Florida State and Clemson because they are tangled in current lawsuits trying to get out of the ACC and possibly join another more lucrative conference like the Big Ten, a new contender for realignment may emerge. In fact there was a lot of chatter about the North Carolina Tar Heels this weekend and how they, and not FSU or Clemson, would be a better fit for Big Ten expansion.

IT COULD HAPPEN

Certainly that would be a possible turn of events. So we will let you know who is saying that and flesh it out. In reality, the North Carolina Tar Heels check all the boxes, on and off the field for the Big Ten.
