Everyone Has A Story, And Its So Important To Be Willing To Listen

Have you ever wondered how you can possibly recognize your inner beauty and find your inner joy when you’re going through a difficult situation? Maybe you are experiencing postpartum depression and anxiety. Maybe you are struggling with mental health, and it’s not related to postpartum depression and anxiety at all. Are you struggling with the barriers put in place by society and are they preventing you from seeking help for your mental health? Are you a healthcare provider that would like to expand your knowledge about how you can help others seek their inner beauty and joy, and you need a testimony of hope from someone that has conquered depression and anxiety and is very successful today. If any of the above things sound like you, you are in for a treat!

The importance of self care for mental health can not be overstated, and self care activities don’t have to be hard or expensive. You can read a book, take a walk, or even do something to help someone else recognize their own self worth! As a healthcare provider, we can teach our patients coping mechanisms, or even reassure them that mental health health is just as important as physical health, and treatment with medication is not something to be frowned upon.

In today’s episode, we will be talking with Courtney Sheffield who is a registered nurse turned makeup artist, but most importantly wife and mama to six beautiful girls. She details her journey through postpartum depression and anxiety, and shares with us the impact that working on her self-confidence has had on not only her, but everyone around her. She is very candid and raw about coming to the realization that there was no way she could fully love those around her, until she began loving herself. She shares with us how she uses her extensive medical background and personal experiences with depression and anxiety to now pour into women in a different way, and help them recognize that looking beautiful is nice, but feeling beautiful is life changing!

Courtney is now a makeup artist for Seint Beauty, and she explains that makeup isn’t magic, but it’s the vehicle that helped her begin to work on her own self-esteem, confidence, and joy. If you are struggling with your mental health, or know someone that is, you don’t want to miss this episode. She radiates joy and will certainly fill you with the motivation that you need to begin loving yourself. Her story is also a testimony of hope that we as a medical community can share with our patients who are struggling with their mental health. Courtney’s story will certainly give hope to anyone struggling.

This episode is an amazing intersection between the medical and nonmedical. We will learn the importance of a positive mental outlook, and we will also touch on a few skin conditions including rosacea and eczema. Most importantly, we will learn the importance of focusing on the people and patients that we are caring for, and treating them as if they are members of your own family.

In this episode you will learn:

For the Patient:

  • The signs and symptoms of postpartum anxiety and depression

  • The importance of talking to your doctor to determine the risks/benefits of medications that are used to treat postpartum depression and anxiety

  • How to embrace your coping mechanisms to get through difficult times

  • The safety of Seint Beauty products

  • Tips for when you have sensitive skin

For the Healthcare Provider:
