Carl Unegbu is a New York attorney, editor of the Comedy Beat website, and author of the popular blog O'Carl's Law, which explores the intersection of comedy and law. He also hosted Comedy Dialogue, a quarterly forum in Manhattan that combined stand-up performances with engaging panel discussions.

In his new book, Comedy Goes to Court: When People Stop Laughing and Start Fighting, Carl provides essential guidance for comedy professionals, helping them avoid disputes, contractual errors, and behaviors that could lead to costly lawsuits. He also tackles the critical question of how far comedians can go while staying protected under the First Amendment.

00:00 - 00:18 " If you're a content creator, this is so important to you because, you know, comedians are just like our canary in the mine, our dog in the fight. They don't have any special advantages or position than any of the rest of us. So what happens to them gives us a sense of what's going to happen to us. How freely you can swing your arms in the area of free speech.” — Carl Unegbu
