Activity Description and Purpose

This educational activity delves into the latest clinical practices for managing geographic atrophy (GA), a severe form of dry age-related macular degeneration. Learners will gain an in-depth understanding of epidemiologic indicators, diagnostic imaging, and the pathophysiology of GA related to the complement cascade. Learners will also gain a deeper understanding of GA by reviewing a case study along with the expert presenters. Designed to enhance clinical knowledge and improve patient outcomes, this CME/CE activity offers a comprehensive approach to understanding and diagnosing GA in clinical practice. The desired results of this educational activity are for comprehensive ophthalmologists and optometrists to enhance their knowledge of the prevalence and pathophysiology of GA and new treatment options and to improve their competence in identifying and managing patients with GA.


Target Audience

This educational activity is intended for comprehensive ophthalmologists and optometrists.
