We are exhausted, but we are so in LOVE! Baby Zeke is officially HERE, and at 6 weeks old - we’re ready to share his birth story & the wild way he made his way earthside with you all!
It is SO important to me to share an EMPOWERING birth story with you all, since so much of what we hear & see in the birth world can be focused only on the traumatic aspects of birth. Although birth was the most intense experience of my entire life - it was also the most beautiful experience of my life and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I also do believe that the intensity was necessary, the pain was necessary for me to experience the transformation & expansion that I did. If you’re afraid or anxious around the unknown that birth initiates you into - know that you CAN do this. I’m pretty certain you’ll surprise the hell out of yourself. I know that I did!
This conversation is honest, it’s raw, and it’s straight from the heart as we revisit the day our lives forever changed in the best way possible. Buckle up for our sleep-deprived but blissed out remembering of our birth story.
I also answered your questions around how I stayed grounded, if I tore & what I did to prevent tearing [spoiler alert: even after 4 hours of pushing, there was ZERO tearing and I share why I believe that was], the highs + lows of both of our experiences, the level of pain I experienced, the ring of fire, and more.
Quick Note: As I continue to share on these topics and weave them into what I offer here - I am not a mom or parenting expert and I sure as hell am not claiming to have all the answers or taking the place of your midwife, OB, doula, or childbirth educator.. and most certainly NOT replacing your intuition. I am on my OWN journey sharing from my own experience AND facilitating honest conversations and holding space for you to find and to reconnect with your own answers & guidance within. You know your body. you know your baby. PERIOD. Our experiences will look totally different and I find so much beauty & freedom in that.
