The resting mind is fantastic at bringing us solutions and innovation.

And what this means to me is that rest is not the absence of work, but the decision to chose to do something different than your job, that 9-5 or that business.
How you spend your rest values more than how much you rest?
The higher level of detachment the higher recovery, the higher restorative rest, the breaks that you take help you to relax. Do you like chess, checkers, coloring, puzzles, like me?
What deep rests do you take; walks, hikes, climbs, runs? What is it for you?
I really hope that you take this topic of rest and relaxation more seriously and I hope that I have made a case along with the Maesters that back me up, that rest, especially deep rest is really a gem for living our best lives. And you know what, it's ok to relax and be happy.
And with that I will leave you with the words of Anne Lammott:

"Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes…Including you".
