Using AI for creative writing

I sat down with Ph.d., Novelist and Columnist Stephen Marche who is the author of, among other works, ‘Raymond and Hannah’, ‘How Shakespeare Changed Everything’, ‘On Writing and Failure’ and ‘The Next Civil War’.

He has written features and essays for The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Atlantic, Esquire, The Walrus and many others.

He's also the creator of ‘Death of an Author’ by Aiden Marchine, a novella written 95% by AI tools.

In this episode

  • Stephen’s author journey
  • The key to stability when working with multiple publishers
  • How AI changed from his first published AI story in 2017
  • Western fear vs. Asian embracement
  • The microwave of language
  • The process of creative writing using AI (incl. the tools)
  • How to prompt to get what you want
  • Who is the author of an AI-written book?
