On this week’s episode we’re talkin’ killer aliens and romantic hitmen, so please join us as we discuss A Quiet Place: Day One and The Hitman.
The alien invasion genre is tried and tested and it took 2018’s A Quiet Place to inject some much needed originality into the genre. Six years on, and we now have the third installment in the Quiet franchise. Set before the events of the first two films, Day One, follows ‘Samira’, an understated performance from Lupita Nyong’o, as she tries to make her way to Harlem for the best slice of pizza in New York.

We also talk about The Hitman, a new Netflix release starring Glen Powell (Top Gun: Maverick), about a college professor who works part-time as a fake hitman for the local police department.
If the story sounds absurd, that’s because it is, but Glen Powell is sensational as the nerdy teacher unwillingly thrust into the seedy underbelly of organised crime.
