In this episode, I talk about the power of identifying a higher purpose to help you accomplish your goals.
There is something about holding yourself accountable to something outside of yourself that will push you to higher levels of commitment.
During Lent I gave up alcohol and two of the biggest driving factors in helping me complete it were:

  1. The commitment I made to my coach and friend.
  2. The belief that God could see if I was being true to my word.

Identifying a higher purpose is the secret weapon to overcoming obstacles.
4 steps you can follow today are:

  • Step 1. Identify the cue, routine, and reward.
  • Step 2. List what exactly it is that you crave from the said bad habit.
  • Step 3. Keep the same cue and reward but switch out the routine.
  • Step 4. Make the commitment to a friend and Identify the Higher purpose behind it.

You take these 4 steps and you will have a much higher chance of success in following through on your desired habits.
