We decided to homestead for many of the same reasons others do: A desire to be self-reliant, to give more time to spiritual pursuits, and to work with our kids on developing hands-on craft and life skills. A possible negative effect, however, to moving out to the country is isolating ourselves from the very world we believe as Christians we are called to reach. Therefore, a biblical view of homesteading must include an objective to bring glory to God in all the homesteader does by doing it in such a way that displays the goodness and grace of God to a world that needs him. This is a primary reason we've started sharing our journey online through our YouTube Channel and podcast.
