Reza is married to a great Lebanese pediatrician in the DMV area Dr. Nadine Idriss and is a cardiologist by training, and a healthcare entrepreneur whose goal is to make healthcare more efficient, available, and less costly.
In this episode, we discuss the healthcare landscape in the US, the difficult access to specialists and to needed care, and the paucity of specialists and healthcare providers in large swaths of underserved areas in the US. We discuss his development of the healthcare platform PicassoMD which streamlines referrals by connecting providers directly to each other. We also discuss its role in connecting providers in underserved areas of the country with specialists through curbsides to decide on the best course of treatment. We then discuss the benefits of early referrals and curbsides in reducing healthcare costs and decreased unnecessary ER visits.
