Good morning, weather watchers! This is your Weather Wizard bringing you the scoop on what Mother Nature has in store for Washington District of Columbia.
Hold onto your winter coats, folks, because we've got a Winter Storm Warning that's about to turn our city into a snow globe! Today's looking chilly with temperatures climbing to a brisk 35 degrees. Expect west winds around 8 to 13 miles per hour, with gusts that might just ruffle your beanie.
But the real drama kicks in tonight! We're talking snowfall that could get seriously intense. Expect snow before 4 am, potentially heavy at times, with 2 to 4 inches of accumulation possible. Temperatures will drop to around 26 degrees, so bundle up!
Monday continues the winter wonderland theme. Snow and potentially some sleet will dance across the sky, with temperatures barely reaching 30 degrees. By Monday night, we'll start to see things clear up, but keep those warm layers handy.
Tuesday brings a bit of relief with mostly sunny skies and a high near 32 degrees. Northwest winds will be kicking at 13 to 16 miles per hour, so expect a bit of a chill factor.
The rest of the week looks cold but relatively calm. Expect partly sunny to sunny conditions with temperatures hovering in the high 20s to low 30s. Friday and Saturday might give us a slight chance of snow, just to keep things interesting.
Pro tip: Layer up, check your winter emergency kit, and maybe keep a thermos of hot cocoa nearby!
