Good morning, weather watchers! Hold onto your winter coats because Washington, District of Columbia is about to get a snow-tastic makeover!
We've got a Winter Storm Warning in effect, so buckle up for a serious snowfall adventure. Overnight, expect a blanket of white descending upon the city, with snow potentially coming down heavy and accumulating between 2 to 4 inches. Temperatures will be chilly, dropping to around 25 degrees Fahrenheit with calm winds.
Monday continues the winter wonderland theme, with snow forecasted throughout the day. Temperatures will hover near a frosty 29 degrees Fahrenheit, and we're looking at an additional 3 to 5 inches of snow. Those light east winds will shift to the northeast, blowing around 5 to 9 miles per hour.
The snow party continues Monday night but starts winding down after 10 pm. Temperatures will plummet to around 19 degrees Fahrenheit with north winds gusting up to 23 miles per hour.
Tuesday brings a welcome break with mostly sunny skies and a high near 32 degrees Fahrenheit. Expect northwest winds around 13 to 16 miles per hour.
The rest of the week looks crisp and clear, with sunny to partly cloudy conditions and temperatures ranging from the mid-teens to low-thirties.
Weekend warriors, heads up! Saturday might bring a 30 percent chance of snow, so keep those winter gear essentials close.
