On the Bus with Troy Vollhoffer

After realizing his dreams of playing in the NHL might not happen, Troy Vollhoffer went from scrapping with the captain of the Boston Bruins to fighting to get his production company off the ground. After decades of putting on the largest country music festivals in the world, Troy Vollhoffer has no signs of slowing down. It’s a special episode of On The Bus, as Country Thunder CEO Troy Vollhoffer hands the wheel over to his good friend Nick Meinema. Growing up in an entertainment household is how Troy got bit by the showbiz bug. Troy reveals to Nick how he went from poolside milkshakes with Redd Foxx to growing up and overseeing the longest-running country music festival in North America. Osher talks a lot about how important it is to be playful in your work, and how important it is to fully commit.
Playful not as a way to faff about on the clock - but as a way to discover creative ways to solve problems, to be more productive and to keep a team engaged.
And to fully commit as in “look if we’re going to do this, we’re going to pour everything into it, and let’s see what happens.”
SMAC is an LA based dancer who grew up in SE QLD - while you may not recognise her name, but if I told you she’s also known as hydraulic press girl - you will know exactly who.

1 The Wonder and Hilarity of Nature - and How to Keep Fighting for It, with Natalie Kyriacou, OAM 47:58
Even in an age of extinction, conservationist, social justice activist and entrepreneur Natalie Kyriacou (OAM) thinks the story of nature is far from just the final chapter in a slowly unfolding tragedy. Here, she shows there is still so much to be in awe of, to hope and work for, and even to laugh at. In this conversation, you'll hear: What the devastation that ensued in the wake of the loss of a vulture population tell us about our connection to other species Why our economy isn't working and what a better one could look like And how Barnaby Joyce wanted to give fish herpes (yep, you read that right) Check out Natalie's book Nature's Last Dance: Tales of Wonder in an Age of Extinction here Get Osher's new book So What, Now What? along with tickets to the live show here See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.…
