

Mark Johnson is no stranger to most of you in the Performance Running Gym family. Mark founded Performance Running Gym in 2017, and without him we wouldn’t have the amazing PRG community today. Mark passed the torch to my Wife, Isabel and I in 2021, and we’ve been carrying on and growing what he started ever since with the help of our awesome team of coaches, trainers and therapists.
What many of you don’t know is Mark’s story of overcoming a cycle of injury and even a major surgery with the help of strength training. Mark is one of the strongest runners I know, and I mean that quite literally - Mark is a beast of an athlete that can keep up with the best both on the trails and in the weight room. Today we’re going to learn more about what led Mark to become a certified Personal Trainer and Coach, to open Performance Running Gym, as well as his own personal experience with strength training as a runner and why he thinks every endurance athlete should be incorporating strength work into their routine for maximum performance and injury prevention.
