Cultivating Empathy, Compassion, and Self-Confidence During Clinical Rotations
Manage episode 291065723 series 2614190
On this episode, we are joined by Dr. Sandy Diec, PharmD and Kyle Fischer (PharmD Candidate 2021). Dr. Diec is a clinical professor at Texas A&M College of Pharmacy where she teaches as well as works as an ambulatory care clinical pharmacy specialist. Kyle is a P4 at Texas A&M College of Pharmacy, and he will be receiving his PharmD in May 2021. Dr. Diec is very passionate about helping students (and healthcare professionals in general) cultivate empathy and compassion towards patients that have been entrusted into their care. We discuss how this is applicable to students that are on clinical rotations. We also talk about tactics to grow self-confidence and other ways to ensure you get the most out of rotations.
Make sure to check out Kyle's pharmacotherapy infographics available on twitter (@Kfischer_10) and Instagram (@kgfischerx).
