The Unforgettable Journey of Shadrach: A Tale of Resilience, Love, & Natural Pet Health
Manage episode 407824811 series 3562303
This is Episode #188, Season 4. This is the story from my book, Animals Taught Me That, on my absolutely amazing, awesome, authentic Neo Mastiff Shadrach. When this book was written in 2009, he was still alive. Shadrach passed away April 5, 2011 but he is ever in my heart and ever my inspiration!
Quote: “We may pass through the fiery furnace, we may pass through deep waters, but we shall not be consumed nor overwhelmed. We shall emerge from these trials and difficulties better and purer for them if we only trust in God.” ~George Q. Cannon
Scripture: Daniel, Chapter 3 - Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego!
NOTES
In this episode, I share a deeply personal account of my experience with Shadrach, our Neapolitan Mastiff. I recount the challenges of helping Shadrach acclimate to a new environment, battling health issues, and the struggles of establishing a routine, especially around meal times.
The narrative unfolds as I initially regret my decision to bring Shadrach home with us, but eventually I committed to providing him a loving and supportive home. Listeners will gain insight into the difficulties Shadrach faced, from training struggles to health concerns, including sleeping issues and occasional distress.
As the story progresses, Shadrach’s health gradually improves, and he becomes more energetic. I reflect on the impact of conventional treatments, questioning their effectiveness and advocating for natural remedies and whole health. This sparks a larger conversation about the importance of natural animal health.
This episode concludes with my realization that Shadrach had been impacted by health issues despite being vaccinated - THINK on that! The narrative touches on an incident involving a lost dog, highlighting Shadrach’s strong personality and the lessons learned from our journey together.
Ultimately, the episode highlights the profound impact Shadrach had on me, leading me to pursue further education in animal health and help other pet owners. The themes of natural care, resilience, and the deep bond between humans and animals are at the heart of this narrative
