In this episode, we take a look at the Irth app, a platform designed to empower Black and Brown women during their maternity journey. Host Venus Standard, Assistant Professor at UNC School of Medicine and certified nurse midwife, is joined by Kimberly Seals Allers, the creator of Irth, and Sheridan Blackwell, Head of Systems Change and Partnership at Irth.

MHLIC is dedicated to highlighting the innovative approaches organizations and individuals take to make a positive impact in maternal health. Listen to learn how Irth is transforming the maternal health landscape by providing a space for real, unfiltered reviews of healthcare experiences for Black and Brown women. Kimberly and Sheridan discuss how Irth empowers women to find supportive healthcare providers, fosters transparency and accountability in hospitals, and ultimately drives change in the maternal healthcare system. Learn about the functionality and features and how it engages with birth workers and doulas to amplify the voices of marginalized communities.
