第五届进博会城市服务保障第二场综合演练顺利完成
Emergency drills【演习】 were carried out today at the National Exhibition and Convention Center, which will host the CIIE next month, to make sure relative departments would cooperate with each other to respond to any unexpected situations quickly during the fair. Organizers said 31 scenarios were simulated including COVID-19 and traffic emergencies. During the health drill, a CIIE participant had an abnormal PCR test result, and was escorted【护送】 from the venue in a designated shuttle truck. At the same time, the places frequented by the individual had to be disinfected and locked down. 50 close contacts of the individual were identified and transferred to a quarantine site.
中国国际进口博览会将于下个月举办。今天（10/21），以国家会展中心（上海）为实景，城市服务保障综合演练举行，检验了各单位的联动能力，确保能够迅速应对博览会期间的任何突发情况。组织者说，该次演练共模拟了31种情况，包括疫情防控应急处置和交通保障专项演练方案。在疫情防控演练中，一名核酸检测结果异常参展人员被第一时间带离，乘坐专用电瓶车，前往就近的临时观察处置点。同时，医护人员对相关展位进行临时管控和消杀，确认了该人的50名密切接触者，并将他们转移到一个隔离地点。
2.QIANTAN TRANSFORMS INTO A LIVING SPACE IN 10 YEARS

It's been 10 years since the Shanghai government released a plan to develop Qiantan in Pudong. The area where the Shanghai World Expo was held is now home to 48 regional headquarters. Zhang Yue takes us there to find out more.
自上海政府发布浦东前滩的开发计划以来，已经过去了10年。这里不仅是上海世博会的举办地，也是48个区域总部的所在地。记者张乐带来更多详细报道。
Zhang Yiming works in the real estate【财产】 management department at Merck Group, a science and technology company from Germany. Three years ago, the company consolidated【合并】 three of its offices in Shanghai. Zhang and her colleagues made the decision that Qiantan, or an area some call the "New Bund", was an ideal location for the new office.

Taikoo Li Qiantan is situated on what was a stretch of wasteland ten years ago. But since opening a year ago, it has quickly become a fresh shopping landmark in Pudong. Restaurants, luxury boutiques, and art installations attract a wide variety of people. It's even got a 450-meter jogging path that wraps around the building for those who want to keep fit.

Qiantan offers plenty of art, sports, and recreational opportunities. Nearly 2,000 rental houses are available for talents to live in. So far, 70 percent of all construction projects have been completed and the remaining 30 percent are at various stages of completion. Office buildings are occupied, while residential and commercial spaces are in high demand.

3.PANDAS ARRIVE AT NEW HOME IN QATAR

Ahead of the opening ceremony of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar next month, the giant pandas Jingjing and Sihai made their public debut in their new home in Doha, attracting plenty of attention and love from locals. This is the first time China has arranged a panda cooperation program with a country in the Middle East. Zhang Yue has the story.
2022年卡塔尔世界杯开幕前夕，国宝大熊猫“京京”和“四海”首次亮相位于卡塔尔首都多哈的“新家”，受到了当地民众的关注与喜爱。这是中国与中东地区首个大熊猫项目合作。记者张乐带来更多详细报道。
The two pandas, 3-year-old female Sihai and 4-year-old male Jing Jing, left Chengdu, Sichuan, for Qatar on Tuesday. Under the agreement, they will be in Qatar for 15 years. Officials said the Qatari side will cooperate with their Chinese counterparts【同行】 in research on pandas living in a desert climate. An indoor enclosure that will duplicate conditions in the dense forests of Sichuan was built for the pandas. Eight hundred kilograms of fresh bamboo will be flown in each week to feed them.

They are in a fully custom built house which has the temperatures which mimic the temperatures in Sichuan for the whole year round.

The pandas have also been given Arabic names -- Suhail for Jing Jing and Soraya for Sihai. Both are the names of stars that embody auspiciousness【吉祥】, sublimeness, and invaluableness.
