#98: Trevor Flick (he/him) is an endurance athlete, an avid outdoorsman, an alcoholic, a dog dad, someone who is constantly on the hunt for candy, and a person who is attracted to things that can kill him. To Trevor, recovery is the gift that keeps on giving. From finding his community of like-minded individuals, to safely participating in extreme sports, his recovery has allowed him to rediscover so many aspects of himself. Tune into the episode to learn more about Trevor as we discuss recovery, failure, his community, and more, including:

  • His failure to finish his first ultramarathon, and the humbling moments that followed as well as the growth and a mindset shift.
  • How there are lessons to be learned in failure, and this only makes you more well-rounded and stronger for the next round.
  • How Trevor stumbled upon The Phoenix at an important crossroads, and the important effect this had.
  • Leaving behind his old social circle and creating a new one in recovery among individuals who want to be social, be fit and do better.
