Hey there surfers and beachgoers, it's time to catch some gnarly waves with your surf zone forecast brought to you by the National Weather Service!
Let's dive into what the waves have in store for us:
Starting off with Malibu Coast and Los Angeles County Beaches, we've got a high rip current risk today with surf heights ranging from 3 to 5 feet. So, be cautious out there. No thunderstorms expected, and the water temperature is between 53 to 59 degrees. Looks like a fun day with a west swell rolling in!
Ventura County Beaches are also experiencing a high risk of rip currents with surf heights of 3 to 6 feet. The water temperature is a bit warmer here, between 56 to 61 degrees. So grab your boards and hit those waves under the west swell!
Moving on to Santa Barbara County, specifically the Southwestern and Southeastern Coasts, we're looking at a moderate risk of rip currents today with surf heights of 2 to 4 feet. The water temperature is around 58 degrees, and a nice west swell is present. Not too shabby for a surf day!
And for San Luis Obispo County Beaches and Santa Barbara Central Coast Beaches, there's a high surf advisory in effect from 2 PM Monday through 2 AM Wednesday. Surf heights will be ranging from 5 to 8 feet on Northwest Facing Beaches and 3 to 6 feet on Southwest Facing Beaches. So get ready for some exciting waves with a west swell boosting the surf excitement!
Remember, rip currents can be risky, so keep an eye out and stay safe out there, surfers!
