Hello and welcome to today's episode!
I am beyond honored and grateful to interview Jocelyn Winn, author of the memoir, One of Nine: A Memoir: A Collection of True Stories that Prompted Suicidal Thoughts and Began A Remarkable Journey to Find a Reason to Live.
Jocelyn Winn’s Bio:
Jocelyn Winn is an American writer, raised in the San Francisco Bay area. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English-Creative Writing at California State University Northridge. Jocelyn was born into a large family and is the sixth of nine children. In January 2022, she published her debut book, One of Nine: A Memoir: A Collection of True Stories that Prompted Suicidal Thoughts and Began A Remarkable Journey to Find a Reason to Live. The memoir is centered around experiences in her childhood, which led her to seek mental health therapy to treat persistent suicidal ideation. Jocelyn is certain that therapy saved her life. Her mission is to share her story in order to help others who may have or are currently experiencing similar circumstances. She wants to remove the negative stigma surrounding mental health concerns which often causes those who are struggling with these issues to suffer in silence. She believes that caring for our mental health is essential to living a fulfilling life.
When she’s not writing, Jocelyn can be found in deep conversation with her sister Ollie, taking advice from her nephew Jaxon or researching new recipes online. She loves gardening, stand-up comedy, and skin care products. Jocelyn lives in Los Angeles, CA with her elderly Shih Tzu, Denzel, and her houseplants.
