It’s our 30th episode and it’s less than a week before Christmas is here! We wanted to kick off the last part of this holiday season by sharing a few of our favorite traditions during this time of year. This mini-episode dives into all the best things like decorating, baking cookies, sending out holiday cards, and finding awesome presents for our loved ones.
Sarah’s Favorite Christmas Traditions
Christmas Eve in my family is the day we exchange all the gifts. But it's really the wrapping paper that is part of our tradition, as every year without fail someone in my family will start a wrapping paper fight. We crumple up the paper and toss it at our unsuspecting family members, and before you know it everyone is joining in. Christmas Day is more relaxed for me, I'll spend time with my mom and we will typically go to the movie theater to watch a movie, because hey, they are open on Christmas Day! But even before Christmas it's part of my tradition to set up the Christmas tree and all the decorations the day after Christmas. The tree can sometimes be a bit of a process, but I have fun creating something new with it every year. I also love to bake cookies while singing Christmas carols and watch Christmas movies - Hallmark channel is usually always on during December. I love the feeling that Christmas gives and all the lights, it is just a very magical time of the year.
Shaunae’s Favorite Christmas Traditions
For me, it’s all about the decorating. The day after Thanksgiving it’s down into the basement to pull out all the holiday decor. That entire weekend is dedicated to making our home feel festive and cozy. I get pretty serious about gift giving too. I work on my list all year and love to surprise my family members, friends, and clients with something special. We even send out Christmas cards to everyone too! This is truly my favorite time of year and I couldn’t just pick one favorite tradition. I really enjoy it all, even those cheesy Hallmark movies. I cannot get enough!
