“We need to accept people for who they are and allow them to compete in the sport they’ve been training for in the body they’ve been given; without modification, without any changes, just for who they are…and allow them to compete because that is what is fair”(Margie McCumstie on The I in Us, 14th August 2024)

Welcome to a highly educational and gripping Paris Olympics episode of The I in Us. Our fabulous hosts, Paul and Little Jase, welcome special guests, Morgan Carpenter and Margie McCumstie, to the program. Our hosts discuss with Morgan Carpenter and Margie McCumstie the impact of social and general media discussions on the intersex community. These discussions have been getting an abundance of publicity during the Paris Olympics. Much of this publicity has been considerably triggering and unsettling to members of the intersex community. It touches on the complexities of accidentally ‘outing’ people. Thus telling the world that they have bodies that are different, that are suspect. Such treatment can have very harmful consequences. Hear what Morgan and Margie say about existing regulations pertaining to competing in international sport.
