Negotiation is something we all have to both accept, and get better at.

If you’re like most people, when you think about negotiation, you picture people talking to “the other side.” Whether you’re pitching to a client, negotiating a contract, or arguing over how much chocolate pudding is enough at dinner time, negotiators are people trying to persuade other people of their point of view.

But that’s only half the story.

And it’s why today I’ve invited a guest who is an expert in negotiation, and why persuading others is just part of what it takes to be successful.

Alistair McBride has started numerous small businesses, and today is a coach, facilitator and trainer who is also a regular guest lecturer at multiple universities in Ireland on topics such as Cognitive Behavioural Coaching, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation. He coaches executives and business owners across an array of industries, including software, law, aviation, telecoms, and corporate finance to name a few. Over the past few years he's been giving his clients the Psychological Edge in Negotiation and has a new program out called Goliath Negotiation Method.
