In this episode, Michelle, explores why embodiment is so hard in today's modern culture. "We don't have enough real life mirrors in our society reflecting back to us what it's like to be deeply human so we feel more more seen, heard and understood."
We need to change the mental health conversation from "what's wrong with you?" to "what happened to you?" There is nothing wrong with you, but there is plenty wrong with our society.
We live in a society that values being busy, stress, powering through, being more, doing more, rather than rest, play and the intelligence of our body. We are conditioned to ignore the intelligence of our body, our gut instinct and our inner-power. This causes internal conflict because our biology simply doesn't match what our culture expects of us. The two don't match.
Inviting a more embodied practice into our lives helps us to feel more connected to ourselves, our relationships and the world around us. It also means we can safely explore our limits with curiosity and compassion.
If you'd like to explore embodiment with me, I currently have two offerings:
EMBODY - in-person workshop at Roe Vally Therapy Centre on Saturday 6th May
Accredited Training for Professionals - 30-hour online LIVE course
