Yoga is not about being able to do a headstand. It is not about accomplishment, the beauty or serenity of the yoga studio, or yoga pants. It's about healing, nourishment, learning, compassion, and growth.
Yoga is a practice. One that integrates body and mind.
It is not about the pose it is about who you become in the pose.
What you do with your body has a profound effect on what you do with your mind. What you do with your mind has a profound effect on what you do with your body.
Yoga encourages a proactive rather than reactive approach to health. It can help address chronic lifestyle and stress-related diseases and is low-tech, portable, and generally safe. Check with your doctor to find out if it is safe for you.
Yoga can also potentially bring healing to the healthcare system itself.
