“Sit up straight!” - We have been told this countless times. Today, it is easier than ever to find yourself slouched over a phone or laptop for hours.

Back pain is the second most common cause of doctor consult worldwide. Many of these concerns can be attributed to lifestyle factors and improper posture. These problems have increased even more during the lockdown - increased hours of sitting and working on the computer, attending online classes, slouched posture, reduced physical activity are factors that contribute to weak back and neck. These concerns can be managed easily by being mindful, doing adequate physical activity and being conscious of our posture while using devices.

When you don't take care of your bone health of your body, it’s like having a car with a great engine but poor tin work. This is the only place we have to live in so we need to take care of it.

On this week’s episode of my podcast Unburden Your Health, my guest is Dr Abhay Nene. He is a world-renowned Orthopaedic surgeon and consultant with top hospitals in Mumbai. He is also a marathon runner, trekker, musician and avid cyclist. We aim to break some of the common misconceptions and how we can better address such prevalent conditions with plenty of useful takeaways for our health.
