When a young Eva Kollisch arrives as a refugee in New York in 1940, she finds a community among socialists who share her values and idealism. She soon discovers ‘the cause’ isn’t as idyllic as it seems. Little does she know this is the beginning of a lifelong commitment to activism and her determination to create radical change in ways that include belonging, love and one's full self. In addition to Eva Kollisch’s memoirs Girl in Movement (2000) and The Ground Under My Feet (2014), LBI’s collections include an oral history interview with Eva conducted in 2014 and the papers of Eva’s mother, poet Margarete Kolllisch, which document Eva’s childhood experience on the Kindertransport. Learn more at www.lbi.org/kollisch . Exile is a production of the Leo Baeck Institute , New York | Berlin and Antica Productions . It’s narrated by Mandy Patinkin. Executive Producers include Katrina Onstad, Stuart Coxe, and Bernie Blum. Senior Producer is Debbie Pacheco. Associate Producers are Hailey Choi and Emily Morantz. Research and translation by Isabella Kempf. Sound design and audio mix by Philip Wilson, with help from Cameron McIver. Theme music by Oliver Wickham. Voice acting by Natalia Bushnik. Special thanks to the Kollisch family for the use of Eva’s two memoirs, “Girl in Movement” and “The Ground Under My Feet”, the Sophia Smith Collection at Smith College and their “Voices of Feminism Oral History Project”, and Soundtrack New York.…

×Today we demonstrate that not only is Michael's fancy microphone broken, that he doesn't remember anything once it's happened, but that we agree that Bikes Can Save The World. There is also a quiz about pasta (although it's not about pasta, it's PASTA) Today we interview Will Allen from Olive. Life is better, for us and the planet, when we do it on a bike. So Will and team created Olive — the really low-maintenance bike that makes riding not just easy, but a pleasure. No flats, no grease, no weight, no hassle. Just a smooth ride. The best bit is fans of TZFC can get a whopping £100 off their own bike by following the link below and using the discount code TZFC in the basket. Whoop whoop! https://rideolive.com/ Peace love and happiness Tim and Michael…
Well, the clocks have gone forward here in the UK, so we talk about Amstel Gold. Michael chooses Remco and Femme (are they even in it?). Also: I didn't forget it was Paris Roubaix Honest. That's in the next episode. Today we go bubble bursting: we talk a lot about Autism and ADHD, it's all my personal view on it - and hopefully, if you're listening to it you might get something from it. If you're interested in reading more about it, please check out my substack here: (7) Neuromantics | Michael Pattinson | Substack Here is the chris packham thing: BBC Two - Inside Our Autistic Minds, Chris Packham invites us inside his autistic mind…

1 Did you know the tour of Flanders is named after Ned Flanders? Tim and Michael talk Cobbles and Calories 35:09
Michael is all excited about the Tour Of Flanders. Michael dreams of learning Dutch so Tim teaches him some. We hope that Friend Of The Podcast Rino and his fellow countrymates aren't upset by their pronunciation. Michael slightly loses control of language, time, and consciousness, and mentions Tom Boonen many times. Surprising about of cycling content, but don't fear listeners - we also do some bubble bursting. Today it's all about calories and exercise. Our minds are a bit blown (or burnt?) - is yours too? Burn: New Research Blows the Lid Off How We Really Burn Calories, Lose Weight, and Stay Healthy by Herman Pontzer | Goodreads Burn (penguin.co.uk) And the infinite monkey cage episode referenced https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m001n8b6…
I was watching Milan San Remo at the weekend, and wout popped up on my insta feed with a challenge that was too good not to accept. The Name Game by Visma & Lease a Bike (teamvismaleaseabike.com) So wout, how did we do?

1 Tim and Michael Lose Control of the Podcasting Process - Fermenting special and more bubbles to burst 36:17
In this episode, we talk about Pizzas, Fermenting, The Microbiome, Tim tells a world beating joke, and I get confused a lot. Will Michael choose some Cyclists who aren't in Milan San Remo as his top tip? Yes! "Tom Pidcock will not race Saturday’s Milan-San Remo due to a concussion, Ineos Grenadiers officials confirmed Wednesday." Ga! I also double up and get confused about the women's race: "And while there’s no women’s Milan-San Remo, the Trofeo Alfredo Binda, a major stop on the women’s WorldTour and a pillar of the former women’s World Cup series, takes place the next day". I wasn't making up that there was supposed to be, last year the UCI said their was going to be one this year! Double Ga! We get to 18 mins before we find a bubble to burst- this one is a lovely bubbly fermenting thing. I think it's a good one though - I'm all excited about it. Series 4 is all about conversation - if you want to hear our usual thing of interviews and this, please check out our earlier episodes :) www.tzfc.co.uk…

1 Series 4 is here! Whoop whoop! Michael forgets names, Tim gets excited, we burst some bubbles. 40:37
Michael and Tim are back! Can they remember how to turn their mics on? Will Michael create an easier-to-follow Quiz? Can he go 5 minutes without mentioning Cyclocross? Was that really Marcel Kittel? In today's episode of The Taylor Zwift Fanclub, we talk about bubble bursting through talking about the spring classics (spoiler: Michael is excited), conspiracy theories, mischievous usage of the new Zwift Coffee Break feature, running, how exercise works (spoiler....it's not what I thought it was), 5-minute power, and we even throw in a bad joke or two. In other words, normal service is resumed. Please like, share, subscribe and give us a review if you like what you hear. It helps us keep doing the things we do. Michael edited today's episode, he's been reading this at the moment, so he left in a few clicks and breaths: This Is What It Sounds Like by Dr. Susan Rogers | eBay…

Wrap up, get a lovely cup of Horlicks and listen to Tim and MP chat to each other about a lot of things that don't really matter. I get all forgetful and repeat myself. Tim talks about TTing and falling off a lot. I realise driving is mad. I don't even mention Cyclocross. It's like one of those white noise playlists. And was that really Wout? Links mentioned in the pod: Geraint isn't in W3W, but cyclist is, how exciting: what3words /// The simplest way to talk about location Join us next time, promise we'll make it more exciting. We got a bit philosophical and didn't talk much about cycling.
The sun is shining, the birds are singing and Tom Pidcock won Strade Bianchi. That's right, it's spring! And what better way to celebrate that with a new season of the Taylor Zwift Fan Club podcast.
With Season 3 still a little way off, we're back for a one-off episode. Tim and Michael get quizzing and talk about what's in their guts.
Tis the Damn Season finale! (as Taylor Swift would say). Joining Tim and Michael for this Christmas special is singer-songwriter Gareth Davies-Jones. Gareth shares some of his music as the three go on an imaginary bike ride and chat together about cycling, travel, landscape and the beauty of the ordinary. Find Gareth online at garethdavies-jones.com All music featured in this episode written and performed by Gareth Davies-Jones. Copyright Gareth Davies-Jones, used by kind permission.…
Join Tim and Michael for an imaginary bike ride along the English/Scottish border and the ultimate Price comparison quiz.
