John 3:1-21 recounts a nighttime conversation between Jesus and Nicodemus, a Pharisee and member of the Jewish ruling council. Nicodemus approaches Jesus acknowledging Him as a teacher sent from God, as evidenced by His miraculous signs. Jesus responds by teaching about the necessity of being "born again" (or "born from above") to see and enter the Kingdom of God.
