Australia's Oldest Special Forces Member On Unique Breathing Techniques
Manage episode 461388685 series 3450378
If I told you that you've been breathing wrong, you'd say that I'm crazy! After all, we've been breathing our whole lives. So, what if I told you that there was a better way to breathe? A way that fully optimized our biological medicine cabinet- our lungs.
Enter, Tim Thomas. He kept getting told no because of his age- for fighting and for Australian Special Forces. Instead of accepting doors being closed, he told them that they couldn't do it at that age, but that he could. So, Mr. Thomas became an excellent fighter, because he just knew that moving his body was what seemed right. From there, due to a unique time in Australia, Mr. Thomas became the oldest person to ever join the Special Forces, where he excelled as one of very few individuals who made it through the program.
Mr. Thomas shares with us a bit about that unique experience, but really, he dives into military and veteran mental health, discussing his own experience with P.T.S.D. and medication. Along with this, he shares his personal mission of veteran suicide prevention, and we discuss how suicide claims more military lives than actual combat, and the tragic reality of isolation, suffering, and purpose. Mr. Thomas goes into detail about pharmaceuticals before explaining about natural healing through optimized breathing, salt, hydration, sleeping and more.
