2 Samuel 23:20 “There was also Benaiah son of Jehoiada, a valiant warrior from Kabzeel. He did many heroic deeds, which included killing two champions of Moab. Another time, on a snowy day, he chased a lion down into a pit and killed it.”

God wants us to be lion-chasers. When the seemingly impossible and terrifying thing things happen – he wants to help us face them. We all have lions in our life.

3 Traits of a Lion Chaser:

1) Lion chasers don’t look at circumstances.

2 Corinthians 4:18 “So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.”

Ecclesiastes 11:4 – He who observes the wind will not sow, And he who regards the clouds will not reap.

2) Lion chasers exercise their faith.

Luke 17:5-6 - “The apostles said to the Lord, “Show us how to increase our faith.” The Lord answered, “If you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘May you be uprooted and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you!”

It doesn’t take a lot of faith – it just takes acting on the faith you have.

Romans 10:17 “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”

3) Lion chasers follow through.

Galatians 6:9 “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”

Hebrews 10:36 “Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.”

No excuses - start chasing lions!

1 Sam 22:1-2 “So David left Gath and escaped to the cave of Adullam. Soon his brothers and all his other relatives joined him there. Then others began coming—men who were in trouble or in debt or who were just discontented—until David was the captain of about 400 men.
