Your story has purpose. Your story can tell others about the love of God. Will you let God direct your story? In this message, Chance Holt shares his story of restoration in the Lord.
Chance committed his life to the Lord as a child. He heard the Lord’s call to ministry as a youth. He grew in the Lord and in ministry.
Distraction destroys purpose.
Separation:
the act or process of moving apart or forcing something apart.
Loss:
John 10:10: “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”
Depression:
17.3 million Americans are affected with depression.
God is visible in the dark:
John 11:35 “Jesus wept”. Jesus wept over a relationship. God was visible to Chance through relationships with friends, family, church family, and God.
Friends:
Be a friend Jesus would want to hang with.
2 Samuel 9:3 “…I want to show God’s kindness to them.”
Family:
Patient yet pushy at times.
John 2:4-5 Mary urges Jesus to create wine for a wedding.
Spouse:
A gift from God
Romans 12:9-11 “Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other…”
We need relationships: God, family, friends, spouse.
