An Interview with Dr. Russell Moore

I believe there is a war in America on our freedom to believe. That is why I partnered with my co-author to write You Will Be Made to Care: The War on Faith, Family, and Your Freedom to Believe. In writing that book, I had the privilege to have a conversation with Dr. Russell Moore. I thought your faith would be encouraged by my sharing it.

It’s easy to get discouraged when we look around at our culture that is becoming increasingly hostile toward Christians and traditional values.

Our book details the attacks and explains why the attacks are happening. But it also offers a massive dose of encouragement and inspiration to keep moving forward.

We call it a resurgence. We believe it is what Jesus has called us to do as believers.

A little about Dr. Moore:

Russell Moore serves as the eighth president of the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention, the moral and public policy agency of the nation’s largest Protestant denomination.

Prior to his election to this role in 2013, Moore served as provost and dean of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he also taught as professor of theology and ethics.

A widely-sought cultural commentator, Dr. Moore has been recognized by a number of influential organizations. The Wall Street Journal has called him “vigorous, cheerful, and fiercely articulate” while The Gospel Coalition has referred to him “one of the most astute ethicists in contemporary evangelicalism.”

Dr. Moore blogs frequently at his Moore to the Point website, and hosts a program called Questions & Ethics—a wide-ranging podcast in which Dr. Moore answers listener-generated questions on the difficult moral and ethical issues of the day. In addition, he is the author of several books, including Tempted and Tried: Temptation and the Triumph of Christ and Adopted for Life: The Priority of Adoption for Christian Families & Churches.

An ordained minister, Dr. Moore has served as a pastor for a number of Southern Baptist churches—most recently serving as preaching pastor at Highview Baptist Church from 2008-2012. A native Mississippian, he and his wife Maria are the parents of five boys.

Russell Moore’s latest book is a good one Onward: Engaging the Culture without Losing the Gospel.

I certainly found his comments illuminating and inspiring.

We use many of them in our new book which launched yesterday, by the way.

It is available now wherever good books are sold.

For the rest of this week only, you can get the Pre-Order Bonus Package that includes 17 other interviews with key thought leaders and victims of the persecution.

The Bonus goes away Saturday night.
