Welcome back to the kitchen table. Today, Bethany invites us to explore Psalm 103, focusing on verses 8-9, and how we can apply this perspective to our parenting.

As parents, we often face challenging days where it's easy to become frustrated or lose patience with our children. But Bethany reminds listeners to take a moment to see our children as God sees us. He looks at us and sees the fullness of who we are—the places we struggle. Yet, despite all this, he is fully aware of us and still has compassion.

God’s compassion isn't based on our perfection, it’s rooted in his steadfast love. When we align our hearts with God's and understand his heartbeat for our kids, we start to mirror his patience and love.

Instead of quick frustration, we can offer understanding. Instead of anger, we can provide grace. This doesn’t mean we ignore misbehavior but that we approach it with the same compassion and grace that God extends to us.

Psalm 103 reminds us that just as God is compassionate and gracious to us, we too can extend that same compassion to our children. By doing so, we not only reflect God’s love but also help our children understand his grace and mercy.
