In today’s episode Dr. Becky speaks with Jue Snell an inspiring mentor, coach & motivational speaker who developed sepsis after being electrocuted by a faulty plug socket when plugging in her laptop at work.
At the time of the accident Jue had a successful career in Business and Performance Management and was a married mother of two daughters, but everything changed when her hand became stuck to the plug socket, giving Jue a severe electric shock through her whole body. Jue was told by doctors she was extremely lucky to be alive, however post- accident Jue suffered from Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS)- an aggressive, relentless and high ranking pain condition. After 12 months of suffering, Jue developed sepsis and immediately agreed to amputation of her arm below the elbow.
Jue went from hating herself and having no self worth as a result of her amputation to having tremendous self compassion which has allowed her to help others.
This is Jue’s story where she discusses what she experienced during the accident and after and what her life looks like now. It is not a therapy session, however, it does cover the Psychological impact of what Jue experienced. Some people may find the content of this interview distressing.
